MERIT

Merit is a Ruby Prize winning comedic drama about isolation, academia and sex. Set in rural Vermont, this two-act play follows Mona, the only student of color (and Southerner) in her prestigious graduate fiction program. When she befriends distinguished professor Doctor Sive—a demanding divorcee with fatigued sex appeal—the two are called to strike a balance between curiosity and propriety, desire and professionalism. Hilarity and ferocity ensue. With roles for 3 women and 3 men.

Merit staged reading rehearsal, The New Black Fest at the Lark Play Development Center. March, 2016.
